3rd Nurses Meet 2020
The nurses are the most trusted healthcare professionals and are with patients throughout the continuum of life. Nurses provide not only physical care in terms of administrating medication and providing treatment, but they provide emotional support, counsel and educate families and collaborate with other medical professionals. Nurses are teachers, advocates, caregivers, critical thinkers and innovators.
To motivate and to show appreciation to the nurses, Dr. Khagendra Sports Foundation (DKSF) in partnership with Blue Cross Hospital, Tripureswore, organized 3rd Nurses Athletic Meet 2020 on 8th February, 2020, on the premises of Nepal Armed Police Force Ground, Halchowk. This meet comes within the objective of DKSF to engage the people in sports which help them to be healthy and be law abiding disciplined citizen. The meet slogan is “RUN FOR COMMITMENT, RUNNERS ARE WINNERS”.
The meet has 4 events: 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters relay and 2.5 kilometers road race.
The race events are synonymous with the job description of the nurses i.e. perform their best in their jobs as in the race, understand and cooperate among the colleagues, doctors and others as a team, get the things done in the best possible way negotiating obstacles and hurdles in the way.
The event conducted jointly by DKSF and Blue Cross Hospital is participated by 34 Hospitals with 460 athletes from the valley.

The organizers provided cash prizes, medals and certificates to the gold, silver and bronze medalists. Also the shields are conferred to the gold medal winning hospitals in each race category. This annual event of DKSF motivate and inspire the nurses who are contributing immensely to the nation in the health sector.
